Welcome! It's a new year and we have new books -- come by and check them out. Don't forget to have an Acceptable Use Policy signed by your parent or guardian on file for using the Internet. Our first sail date is Sept. 6, and meetings of the Sailing Club are after school on Thursdays.

Read four books this summer and write book reports in any format and you will win a prize in the LAUSD Books of Summer program. Select a book from the BS list, or from an LA public library summer reading program list. See Mr. Belton in the library for entry forms; submit them by Sept. 5. Keep reading, and we'll see you in September. Sailing Club meets Thursdays after school in the library, sails Saturday afternoons.

Everybody have a great summer, and we'll see you in September. Meanwhile, why not join the Summer Reading Program of the Los Angeles Public Library? Last sail of the season: Sunday, June 15. Come to Sailing Club meetings, after school Thursdays in the library.

If you enjoy reading, why not bring your family to the Feria del Libro, family book fair, June 7 at LA City Hall? There will be games, music, fun activities like rock-climbing and -- of course -- multicultural books. It's all free, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at First and Main streets! Sailing Club meets Thursdays after school in the library, and we sail Saturday afternoons.
